Senior Travelling Fellowship (1987)

It is a matter of great privilege to record that the Departments of Surgery in various Medical Colleges are being manned by highly qualified and competent personnel. However it was felt by the Executive Committee of the Chapter that there should be greater interaction between the various Departments of Surgery and between the Departments and other Government Hospitals. To encourage this cooperation and interaction, Senior Travelling Fellowship has been instituted by making the provision of Rs. 25000/- from the consolidated funds of the Chapter. Out of the interest accured a sum of Rs. 2000/- at least will be given to a senior teacher in service or retired, selected so that he can spend at least 5 days in another college. He is expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate training programme and to demonstrate surgical techniques. He may participate in the activity of the other hospitals in the town if so desired.
